Description

“Boombah” is deeply inspired by the vibrant energy and rhythm of life that music brings into our world. The title itself is a playful nod to the pulsing beats that move us, evoking a feeling of fun and movement. In this piece, I wanted to capture the essence of sound and its ability to connect us across cultures and experiences.

I chose bold, high-contrast colors to symbolize the myriad emotions that music elicits—joy, nostalgia, excitement, and a sense of freedom. Each hue flows into the next, reflecting the dynamic nature of sound waves as they ripple through our lives. While painting, I also drew a lot of inspiration from the visual chaos of urban environments where music culture thrives. The raw influence of street art, the constant energy of bustling city life, and the eclectic styles of street performers all played a massive role in how I shaped the canvas. I wanted to weave these elements together using expressive, heavy palette knife strokes to celebrate pure creativity and expression, making the texture feel as loud and alive as the music itself.
