About Bahar Yusif
Bahar Yusif is a contemporary abstract artist whose work explores the invisible landscapes of memory, desire, vulnerability, and transformation. Entirely self-taught, she has developed a distinctive visual language where raw emotion meets deliberate restraint, creating works that exist between abstraction and psychological narrative.
Her paintings are built through layers of gesture, texture, and material presence, often incorporating metallic elements and organic marks that evoke traces of lived experience. Rather than depicting a fixed reality, Behar’s practice investigates what remains beneath the surface: the emotions that resist language, the memories that reshape themselves over time, and the quiet tension between fragility and resilience.
Drawing from personal observation and inner states, her works become spaces of contemplation—places where uncertainty, longing, and human complexity can coexist without resolution. Each piece is approached as an excavation rather
than a statement, allowing intuition, accident, and material dialogue to guide the process.
Over the years, her work has been presented through various international and solo exhibitions and has found homes in private collections across different countries. Today, Bahar continues to expand her practice through a body of work that is deeply personal yet universally resonant, inviting viewers into a visual experience that is both intimate and open-ended.
