“Rusted” emerges from a deeply intuitive moment of inspiration sparked by the unexpected beauty found in decay. As part of my Inner Architecture series, this heavily textured art piece encapsulates the complex interplay between colors and tactile surfaces that mimic the natural deterioration of a once-vibrant structure—much like weathered, oxidized metal.

Using a soulful palette of soft pink, light yellow, and rich burnt sienna brown, “Rusted” invites you into a world where imperfection tells a story. The pink hues represent the underlying vibrancy of life, subtly hinting at the passage of time as it fades and transforms. Light yellow brings a warm, soft glow that contrasts beautifully with the deep earthiness of the burnt sienna, creating a heavily layered depth that you can feel with both your eyes and hands.

The rusted metal that inspired me acts as a powerful metaphor for resilience.
