Description

“Yellow Stone” is a piece that comes from a very raw, intuitive place. When you look at the visualization in Yellow Stone in Frame 2023.PNG, you are seeing a piece of my own internal world. I painted this as part of my Inner Architecture series to explore the delicate balance between the heavy structures we build to protect ourselves and the fragile, quiet thoughts we keep hidden inside.

To build that tension, I laid down bold, unyielding blocks of deep black and a sudden, sharp burst of vibrant yellow across the top. It feels grounded, almost stubborn. But beneath that weight, the canvas opens up into a softer, breathing space of layered whites and pale cream. Across this quiet surface, I let my hand wander with a graphite pencil, leaving behind loose, scribbled script. These marks aren’t meant to be perfectly read; instead, they act like a visual diary or a stream of consciousness—capturing the messy, beautiful, and unspoken internal conversations that truly shape who we are. It’s a painting about resilience, vulnerability, and the complex frameworks of human endurance.
