Description
I’ve always been completely captivated by the raw emotion and rhythm of Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, and this painting is my attempt to turn that incredible sound into something you can actually see. I wanted to capture the way music moves through us—not just as notes, but as a visual language of energy, color, and depth.
When I was working on this piece for my Symphony of the Colors series, I didn’t want to paint static shapes. Instead, I focused on building up thick, layered textures and using big, sweeping brushstrokes to let the energy just burst across the canvas. It felt incredibly spontaneous while I was making it, and I wanted to pass that immersive feeling on to whoever looks at it. The way the blue tones interact and shift means the painting changes a little depending on the light or where you stand, constantly revealing new details the longer you live with it. I created this piece to bring a strong, lively presence into a modern home—something that doesn’t just decorate a room, but genuinely connects with your emotions every time you walk past it.
